Why Did I Choose Traverus Travel? A looong story I am going to share.

First A little about me. I have been Pastoring for 10 years. I have always worked full-time in management in corporate America and put money into my ministries. I have built the number one sales teams and Departments for Companies Like MCI, Allstate, Ameritech, and most recently Retired with the #1 sales team in the nation, in the home equity division of Wells Fargo Bank. I have never wanted to live out of an offering plate and wanted to be a blessing not a burden do my ministry. I went to the small business administration and did research on starting my own Travel Agency knowing the economic power of the baby boomers retiring.

What I discovered was very interesting. 82% of all Travel booked the previous year was booked online. People no longer go to the yellow pages to find travel. They go on the internet browse a few sites and pull out thier credit cards and input thier personal information with no questioned asked and no one to call. The light bulbs went off and I began to do further research and realized I would not be able to get the funding to compete with the Expedia's and Orbitz and William Shatner(Captain James T. Kirk) Funny Commercials for priceline.

So I decided to look for a Company that would allow me to get my foot in the industry and Joined YTB your Travel Biz in December of 06. I gladly sent my Travel Portal out to all of my Contacts and had people booking travel on my website in an automated fashion. I was excited to say the least. All the wind was taken out of my sail when I got my first Travel Commission Check. That is when I discovered the World Choice Split on Commissions with YTB before I saw a dime. It was obvious this was not where the money was made. So I began to focus on building a networking business with YTB. I introduced the concept to people who had already booked travel with me and began to speak to those I knew. This was back in Jan of 07 before all of the problems you see YTB has now.

Even at that time with the Economy doing well as interest rates were low and everyone was getting into the real estate industry. I was at the peak of my career with Wells Fargo Bank. I am so glad I did not keep all my eggs in that one basket, look at how the market has changed.

What I found was even then $500 was to high of a price point to grow a networking business unless you have Huge contacts of people with money who have huge contacts of people with money who all believe in the Network marketing model.

I knew then that I would need experienced Network marketers so I went to the internet to reach out to the competition to introduce them to what I felt was the best Travel Network on the Planet. This is how I first came across TraVerus. My Goal was simple and direct! Get these unknown Traverus agents introduced to YTB. What I discovered as I began to compare the two so I could show everyone why Traverus was better was an Eye Opener!
YTB business model of having you pay $500 to join and another $150 for what they call Certified REFERRAL Agent training is not to put you in position to sell travel like a licenced travel agent like TraVerus Does, It's just money to fund the upline bonus compensation plan. Sadly many people who have never been taught travel don't know the difference. They just wander around talking about travel be never being actually taught how to execute it. Now with the Loss of IATA and major suppliers the game is up. They could not function like a fully licenced TraVerus Travel Agent if they wanted to.

When I discovered this in March of 07 while comparing the two and trying to recruit for YTB! I did the no brainer and joined Traverus for under $200 bucks and shared it with those I had already talked to about YTB and like the Idea of being in Travel but did not have the $500 to get started.

At that same time YTB Coach Tomer Sold a Million Dollars of stock shares and Tanked the stock from $15 a share to less than $1 and it has never recovered. Then it just kept going down hill from there.

They lose their IATA Credentials due to abuse of allowing non travel agents use Industry Travel perks as the promoted them through their presentations to Travel as an Insider and take fam trips.

Then Royal Caribbean Terminates their relationship with YTB. Which is responded by a huge push with a video to follow of all YTB agents purchase cruise vouchers for their friends and family. Then Perillo Tours separates themselves. As a result of losing the IATA Credentials the agents and only book through major hotels through their websites. They can no longer book direct with Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton.

Then more news comes out about inside deals meanwhile yahoo financial reports show the undercover sale off of stock from all upper management even while the stock is at a record low?

Then their own attorney threatens to sue them if they don't correct the major problems with their business model even asking them to refund the Fake CRTA training money. He knew what was going to happen and it Did.

Huge California AG Lawsuit which is their largest operating state. Now directors are spinning that the AG is just looking for money and does not even have his Attorneys license anymore!? I has enough power to sue you for a marketing practice that does not deliver the product of Travel. Should have listened to your own attorneys lawsuit against you.

Then a Class action lawsuit from former reps in Illinois. The people are going to win that one folks. The compensation plan on http://www.ytb.com/ shows the 80% of the reps are not making a single dime in 12 months. The fat cats of the company state its people not going to work or following a system. I guess they feel people like me just could not cut it. Well that could not be farther from the truth as person after person like myself who did not make much or even their investment back and were never trained to sell travel, have found a real home with TraVerus and its a night and day experience.

Pastor Brewer what do you have against YTB? You I know I still have friends over there struggling seeing the major fall off and have lost thousands. I don't have any lawsuits myself and no one in the company has done anything wrong to me. I think that YTB is a Good company gone wrong with poor management decision. I don't like it when companies fail and effect so many other people, but worse when they cover up or are silent about the truth. That is what really got under my skin the most. The never said the truth up front about all these problems until the word got out through the grapevine by people transitioning To a more stable travel company as Traverus. Look at what happens when banking executives fail in their decisions and ethics in the mortgage industry. YTB with hundreds of thousands of reps is going to effect allot of people financially in these already tough economic times.

Now they have thrown a bone about a YTB Franchise Deal in 09 and once again go silent and silence everyone else online about it. I am entitled to my opinion right. This is America right! Everything I have said is public news and not made up right. But notice how anyone who speaks the truth is called the one who does not have integrity when it comes to this company that has opened its arms to Networking leaders to bring over their downlines from other companies and is now Terminating Directors like you would not believe!

Because of all of the Attrition it is reported that the Directors may lose their paid insurance and take salary pay cuts. (Wait did I say Salary) Yes the monthlys are down due to the loss and they cannot sustain the big dog payouts.

Meanwhile in Traverus I have grown a prosperous business in over 25 countries. Retired from Wells Fargo and the Mortgage industry (whew) Have helped 50 other people get out of corporate America in less than a Year. Bought my first Home and home schooling my grandchildren.

I love Traverus because more people are succeeding and that makes me sleep better know those I share an opportunity with I don't have to go back and explain alot of negative info and why I did not share it upfront. It's 1/2 the price and has more value and Traverus is Fully International and Operational in 98 Countries. It not only made sense its making allot of dollars for many more people than just me.

YTB is a Recruiters compensation plan grow your organization by 6's and you get bonuses. Problem is if your dowline reaches say 18 people You don't get another Bonus until your powerline group only grows to 24. if you lose 3 people then you need to grow by 9 to get that bonus no matter how many you lose and recruit no bonus until 24. Lose 10 and replace with 10 more....no bonus.. it's and ever increasing recruiters complan. Which is why 80% of the company has never recieved a single check according to the reps earnings report on http://www.ytb.com/. Not trying to get people to part with $500 after they see all the lawsuits and negative information you have already come across yourself.

World Ventures- Binary :-( Ouch period. ask any rep how many do you have on your left site and how many do you have on your right. You have to get 90 people on each side...180 people before you get residual income and can take Trips. Oh $400 to shoot for 180 people broken up to 90 on two legs. Everone knows you always end up with one leg out performing the other and then you get no bonus and your work goes to the house...and that gets old Quick!

Pro Travel Network- YTB's ugly cousin has all the bells and whistle hype of being publicly traded. The only Reasons companies are publicly traded is because they need ot raise money. Being Publically traded does not make you a legitimate company. Average person is fooled by being told that HYPE. I have heard from Top dogs trying to flip thier teams to pro travel that they are getting performance bonuses contracts to get heavy hitters. The comp plan is based again on Recruitment and Time limits. So not only do you have to recruit but you have to recruit by a certain amount of time or you lose what work you have done. The problems of Wood River, IL-based YourTravelBiz.com (YTB) multiplied following last week’s legal action by the California Attorney General after a class action law suit was filed in a federal court in Illinois and a regional Better Business Bureau (BBB) released complaints about YTB.

The federal action was filed in the U.S. District Court for Southern Illinois, according to a report by The Telegraph, a major regional newspaper. The action charges that YTB was an illegal pyramid scheme.

The action names two specific plaintiffs, Faye Morris of St. Louis and Kwame Thompson of Atlanta. The action seeks class action status on behalf of as many as 1,000 people who were members of the YTB travel network.

As with the California suit, the defendants are YTB International Inc., YourTravelBiz.Com, YTB Travel Network Inc., YTB Travel Network of Illinois and its technology unit Rezconnect Technologies.

Officers of YTB are also named in the action including founder J. Lloyd Tomer and YTB executives J. Scott Tomer, J. Kim Sorensen, Andrew Cauthen and Michael Brent.
Compounding YTB’s problems, a report filed by the Better Business Bureau of Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois was released. The BBB alleges that YTB has faced consumer complaints filed in at least 31 states.

The new Illinois federal action alleges that YTB violated Illinois law by using an illegal pyramid sales scheme and illegal chain of referral sales techniques that caused the plaintiffs to suffer actual damages, according to the Telegraph.

Reports of the action by California’s Attorney General sparked angry debate among travel agents across the U.S., including defenders of YTB’s program and critics of YTB. Many agents assert that YTB’s program encourages non-professional "pseudo" agents to enter the industry.
The St. Louis Post Dispatch, a major daily, reported that YTB had responded to the BBB’s complaints via a statement by Chief Executive Officer Scott Toner, who said they were “unaware” of any unresolved BBB complaints.

“We are proud of our business model and how our operations are conducted in an ethical and transparent way,” Toner is quoted as saying. “We also are wholly confident that our business model will withstand scrutiny, and look forward to setting the record straight in court.”
At presstime YTB’ had yet to respond to the crisis on its website nor responded to emailed requests for comments.

Competition is always good for the market place and the end consumer always Wins when companies compete.

However there comes a time when you feel sorry for even your biggest competitor and that day is today for me regarding the California YTB Lawsuit.

Just as I was a manager for Wells Fargo Bank I taught and trained people how to help homeowners refinance thier loans over to Wells Fargo from Countrywide, Morgan Chase, City Group, and other lenders to make Wells #1. I could only feel sadness for all of the employees that lost thier jobs when the market began to go down. Even though the Wells portforlio and business model had done better than other banks through this real estate storm you want to see these other financial institutions continue.

Thats how I feel about YTB California Lawsuit today many friends and family members I know over there that are stressed out and looking for secure income are effected by this news.

YTB sued by California attorney general

WOOD RIVER - One of the city's largest employers and seller of online travel is being sued for $25 million by the California Attorney General's Office for operating a "gigantic pyramid scheme."

Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr. announced Tuesday that he filed suit against YourTravelBiz.com, a subsidiary of YTB International Inc., for recruiting tens of thousands of people with deceptive claims that they could earn huge sums of money through its online travel agencies.

"YourTravelBiz.com operates a gigantic pyramid scheme that is immensely profitable to a few individuals on top and a complete rip-off for most everyone else," Brown said.

Brown stated in a news release that the lawsuit seeks to shut down the company's unlawful operation before more people are exploited by the scam. He said the company and its affiliates, YTB Travel Networks Inc. and REZconnect Technologies Inc., operate an illegal scheme that only benefits members if and when they find enough new members to join the scam.

Brown is charging YTB and the company's founders, J. Lloyd "Coach" Tomer, J. Scott Tomer and J. Kim Sorensen, along with the company's chief operating officer, Andrew Cauthen, with operating an "endless chain scheme."

The lawsuit is the toughest one filed so far against the company since it started operations seven years ago. YTB runs Web sites for referring travel agents, or RTAs, online agencies that sell flights, cruises and vacation packages and earn a commission.

The RTAs pay a one-time cost of $449.95 for the company to set up their online travel agency and monthly fees of $49.95 to maintain the site.

In the lawsuit, Brown claims that the "defendants make untrue or misleading claims that consumers can become millionaires and receive special travel discounts offered only to professional travel agents."

The suit claims that consumers paid more than $103 million to the company for Web sites, but made only $13 million in travel commissions.

"Of the more than 200,000 consumers who purchased or maintained defendants' Web sites during 2007, 62 percent failed to earn a single travel commission - not even on their own personal travel," the lawsuit claims.

Under California's business practices statutes, the company is liable for $2,500 per violation of the law.

YTB employs nearly 300 people at its headquarters at 1901 E. Edwardsville Road in Wood River and is spending $25 million to expand the facility it purchased more than two years ago.

Critics of the company say YTB is a hoax because so few people break even selling travel, and the majority of the company's profit comes from selling to new RTAs. Critics and investigators have looked at YTB for the past several years; however, there has been no action taken against the company.

One of YTB's top sales representatives was investigated by the Florida attorney general for "deceptive business practices" last year, but the state did not file suit.

YTB officials said other states have looked at the company's business practices and found nothing illegal.

A report that YTB filed Tuesday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission states that a civil action was filed against the company by the state of California. The company said the complaint alleges that it violated California's unfair competition and advertising laws.

The filing states that the company believes it has operated in full compliance with California law and will defend the case vigorously.

"The complaint was filed after 18 months of dialogue, initiated by the company with the attorney general to discuss the implementation of the new California law's potential effect on the company's business model. Throughout these discussions, which broadened over time, the company has consistently cooperated with the state's information requests and provided detailed evidence in face-to-face meetings explaining how and why the company's business model is in full compliance with the California law."

The filing says the parties recently came to a standstill and that Monday's complaint, or lawsuit, is a result of the standstill.

A news release issued by CEO Scott Tomer said company officials were disappointed that California's attorney general decided to take action. Tomer said the company would defend the matter vigorously and is looking forward to having the court decide the merits of the case.

Proponents of the company said the timing in which Brown filed the lawsuit is somewhat suspicious, noting that YTB is hosting its annual convention at the America's Center in downtown St. Louis this week. A person who did not wish to be identified said that close to 20,000 people were in attendance at the convention.

During the past several years, YTB has grown significantly and was ranked 26th in a survey last year by Travel Weekly magazine, selling $414.5 million in trips. Nearly three-quarters of its revenue came from selling new agencies.

The company announced last month that it is contemplating the replacement of its referring travel agent business model with a franchise operating system, potentially in 2009. The model, if adopted, would be similar to other franchise businesses; however, details about price and product offerings remain under consideration.

Wow Look at the Numbers starting with the first line The Free Rep Position! 80% of the reps in the company are in the free spots because they could not afford the $500 Start up Cost. The forms on this page will give you the details of the Traverus Travel Compensation Plan. I was in YTB before I switched. In short before you view the Traverus plan here is why. I have 20 of successful sales experience. I was able to recruit others with a $500.00 price point. What I found in my recruiting is that many people working at home are not sales professionals so they were not able to duplicate my success.

To Maximize the YTB compensation plan you have to have constant recruiting for your income to continue and you will need to so you can replace others that drop out who realize they cannot recruit consistently..so your income slows down..quickly. Today is more of the same. Many people have been on conference calls with their upline leaders trying to stop the bleeding of people switching to traverus. Most of the Top Directors that got into YTB in the beginning are trying to maintain their downlines. Most people who have not been able to see the duplication in their downlines are realizing it is easier to sign someone up into Traverus as a CTA for 169.00 vs $500.00 in YTB.

Traverus is a 26 year old international Travel agency. Which does not give out Cards to its members. They are true travel agents and have more benefits than RTA or CRTA's. Let me clarify point number two: You can either start as a Certified Travel Agent for $399.95, or you can start as a Referring Travel Agent at $119.95 and earn your way to CTA for free. If you start as a CTA, you can earn your 70% travel commissions and your higher referral commissions right away, but you need to take the free online training (5 hours) in order to get your card, start working directly with the suppliers, and take advantage of FAM trips. But you can go on Traverus Member Trips right away. If you start as an RTA, you can become a CTA by referring two agents (either RTA or CTA) during your first 7 days, or have 12 agents total in your group (no deadline). If you upgraded to CTA for free, then you will have to pay $50 to get your card and other materials. In the meantime, as an RTA you qualify for your referral commissions (including residuals), 20% travel commissions, and can go on Traverus Member Trips. Adrianne

Traverus Compensation plan is way better than YTB. I sold travel and recruited through YTB so I am speaking from the checks I get. More people can duplicate Traverus for the 119.00 start up VS the 500 Start up in YTB. So more people are making money. I have been promoted 3 times in just 6 months. I am now a National Director there are only 16 people on this level today. there are two positions above that and only one person is above me. Traverus has a High commission compensation plan. There is no other compensation plan that gives back to the field like Traverus. Other companies have you working for fam trips or dream vacations. When you see a high cost to become a member in the company its because they are trying to pad the bonuses for the heavy hitters.

Traverus is already international and has the most fair price to be an agent and pays out more for each sale and travel.

Anyone looking to get into the travel industry needs to check out traverus before they waist money on companies overcharging to get into the travel industry. Then find out that they are not going to build a large team because many are not going to pay $500.00 just to be an RTA and then another $150 to be a CRTA not a CTA then another $150 to work with associations it just flat out cost to much.

Here is the Latest. I am finding that my team is having more success with Traverus Travel than they have ever had in the industry. I know it's because of the Price point. People are joining from YTB. I myself switched from YTB to traverus becuase of the duplication of $119.00 vs a $500 product. Wow This company Really Pays. You share this opportunity with someone and they get started for only $119.00 and they can become a CTA. Certified Traverus Travel Agent which is recognized by the Entire travel industry. You can Join Traverus Travel from anywhere in the world as they are international. Other companies are not International and many Charge $500.oo upto 1500.00 just to be in a travel membership club or an RTA -referring travel agent.

What I have found is that those companies charging more than Traverus Travel don't even pay back as much to the reps. When a Rep Sells a Traverus Travel agent Package in Traverus Travel for 119.00 The rep get $70.00 commission and the sponosor of the rep gets $30.00 = $100 the company is only getting $19!!! Wow that shows integrity that the company really wants to reward the reps.
